THE RULES – IN SHORT

We strongly recommend downloading the official GPX file to your GPS watch, smartphone or GPS device before the start.

You may leave the course at any point, but you must always return to the exact place where you left it before continuing.

This is a self-supported race.

You may accept help that is freely offered, but you may not ask for assistance, supplies or transportation. Family and friends are not permitted to accompany, pace or crew you along the course.

You are not allowed to travel in any motor vehicle unless instructed by the police or transported by ambulance in a medical emergency.

You are not allowed to stay overnight in a private residence.

You are entirely responsible for your own food, accommodation, equipment and supplies throughout the race.

Every day at 10:00 am, your average progress must be at least 51.5 km per day, according to the official tracking system.

If you fall behind the required pace…

Blinky will catch you.

COURSE NAVIGATION

The official Google course map contains checkpoints every kilometer.

The same map is also available at:

www.runtrip.se

Along most of the course you will find signs marking the official bicycle route around Gotland.

There are a few sections where the bicycle route differs from the official race route.

Always follow the official GPX file and tracking map.

At two locations the bicycle route splits across the island.

Whenever this happens, always choose the left-hand route.

Keep your phone, GPS watch and power banks charged throughout the race and navigation will be straightforward.

You will also receive your unique Official Finisher Number, reflecting your place in the history of Gotland Run.

If you do not complete the full distance within the 10-day time limit, or if you decide to withdraw from the race, Race Management will keep your finisher stone. The stone will be returned to you, together with a newly engraved stone, on the day you successfully complete Gotland Run in a future edition.

Before the start of the 2027 edition, only 54 runners had officially completed a full lap around Gotland within the 10-day time limit.
